Our crowns are made to look as natural as possible, and by using high-quality materials, they have the potential to last several years.
The modern crowning process allows us to fabricate beautiful crowns that look like they are part of your smile. Your crown will restore a tooth that has suffered decay but that is not suitable for a filling. We may also recommend a crown if:
Crowns generally take two appointments.
Consultation: This important step is to assess the affected tooth, evaluate your smile, and discuss the options available. By listening to you and gathering images and impressions of your teeth, we can begin to assemble a treatment plan that addresses your individual needs and wishes.
Preparation: During your first appointment, the decayed and damaged areas of the tooth are removed. We can then take a dental impression, giving us the information we need to make your crown bespoke. You won’t have to go without a tooth, as we’ll give you a temporary crown for the time that you wait for your permanent crown to be made.
Crown placement: We should have your crown ready after approximately two weeks. It’s fitted in place using a strong adhesive.
You’re done!
What materials do you use to make my crown?
We use a variety of high-quality materials to create your bespoke crowns, including porcelain, zirconia, metal and acrylics.
What’s it like to get a crown?
You should feel comfortable throughout the crowning process. As we use a local anaesthetic when we remove the damaged parts of the tooth, you won’t feel anything.
Do I need to take special care of my crown?
One of the great things about crowns is you can look after them in the same way as you would your normal teeth. Brush, floss, enjoy a sensible diet, and avoid biting on foreign objects; your crown can last several years.
