These are custom-made by our dental technician and applied directly to the affected tooth.
Typically, 2 appointments are needed to complete your treatment journey.
Examination: The first step is to rule out the possibility of using a conventional filling or crown to repair your tooth.
Preparation: Your tooth is numbed with a local anaesthetic, and the decayed matter is carefully removed. We are then in a position to take a mould of your tooth, which the dental technician uses to create your inlay or onlay.
Fitting appointment: Once your inlay or onlay is ready, we can use a strong adhesive to bond it to your tooth. The tooth is then polished to achieve a smooth, tooth-like appearance and feel.
Inlays and onlays: What’s the difference?
Whilst inlays are designed for the small pointed areas on a tooth’s biting surface, inlays cover more extensive areas where decay has occurred.
Will my inlay or onlay look natural?
The dental technician will communicate with your dentist so that the cosmetic outcome is authentic and pleasing but also durable.
