Following the Government advice Sistova Road Dental Studio is still temporarily closed, and we are only available for remote support and guidance for our patients. Due to the current pandemic of COVID-19 unfortunately we can no longer offer face to face appointments, however we are still available to help you with an emergency dental issue.

Except our email and phone support, we’ve created some useful tips to help you, if you’re experiencing some dental problems at home.

Broken and chipped teeth

If your tooth has chipped, a piece is broken off, there is a sharp edge that digs into your tongue, lips or cheek or if it’s causing you pain, you should:

  • First of all, use floss around the area, and then brush the tooth as normal to keep it as clean as possible.
  • Use over-the-counter painkillers (if you can use them and you don’t have any risks to take them), for example: paracetamol.
  • Rub some toothpaste directly onto the tooth that has been affected. Do not rinse your mouth with water, let the toothpaste work.
  • If you have to, you can buy temporary filling material from your local pharmacy or Boot’s and repair the tooth yourself using the instructions on the packet. It won’t be permanent solution, but it will keep you going until our Practice is re-open.
  • If your broken or chipped tooth is causing excruciating pain, or it’s causing severe damage to your cheek or lip, please send us an email or leave us a voicemail with your details, description of the problem with as many details as possible, and we will contact you as soon as possible and advise you further.
  • However, if your tooth is broken or chipped, but you are not in pain and it’s not causing any damage to your cheek or lip, you might not need to do anything, just make sure to take extra care of the tooth, including thorough flossing and cleaning, and minimise the use of that side of the mouth, until our Practice re-open for routine dental care.
  • If you let us know about your problem (either an emergency or not), once we are re-open we will contact you in a first instance to book you an appointment with the Dentists.
